Anthony Francis Skokna, age 64 of Brookfield, preceded in death by his parents Joe and Edythe Skokna, will be forever loved by his son Michael (Katie), Mary, Elizabeth, Evelyn, Jacqueline, Bernadette, Andrea, Lucy and their mother Julie. Cherished grandfather of Addison Grace, dear brother of Michael I, Peggy (James) Pappin, Catherine (Jim), Andrew (Kate), Thomas (Marie), Nicholas (Tracey) and Christopher (Karen), fond uncle of countless nieces and nephews. Anthony was a teacher of many years at St. Joseph High School, Chicago, Providence St. Mel, Chicago and John Marshall High School, coached high school basketball, Babe Ruth Baseball and was a referee for AYSO soccer. He played baseball at Columbia College, Columbia, MO, enjoyed soccer locally and also earned a paralegal degree. He was a Third Order Franciscan and belonged to the St. Barbara Knights of Columbus Council 15943. Anthony also was a co-worker of Mother Teresa, who worked with her Sisters in Haiti while on his honeymoon. Visitation Friday, January 18th, 3:00pm-9:00pm at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 S. DesPlaines Avenue, North Riverside. Funeral Saturday, January 19th, 9:00 am Prayers at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 Spring Road, LaGrange. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
