Christopher M. George

April 3, 1952 — March 25, 2025

Westchester

Christopher M. George passed away March 25, 2025 surrounded by his family. Chris was a devoted husband to his wife Lorna for over fifty years and father to Andy (Loretta), Matt (Traci), Tom, Liz (Lester). He was an adoring grandfather to Cora, Luke, Penelope, Olivia and Ryan. He is also survived by his brother Jeff (Kerry) and was a friend to countless others

Chris spent his career as both a railroad engineer and a small business owner. He took over the family business at a young age, The Traveler Luggage, and joined the Canadian Pacific railroad in mid-life where he worked as an engineer until retirement. He was a family man at heart and took pride in coaching his kids' sports teams, and more recently sharing his elaborate model train collection with his grandchildren. He also knew how to fix anything, whether it involved cars, bikes, carpentry, electric, plumbing and more. An impressive feat considering he gained this knowledge before the internet and without the use of instructions.

He was passionate about football and played at Riverside Brookfield HS, Morton College, and North Central as a young man. Later in life he got a kick out of his sons playing the sport and being involved as a father. An avid Bears and White Sox fan he loved to critique their performance (or lack thereof) on the field. Both organizations would have benefited greatly had they hired him as a consultant. Chris was always the life of the party smiling, laughing and cracking jokes. He was a great guy with a big heart and will be missed dearly by those that knew him.
