Susan Colby

Dr. Susan (SueEllen) Colby, age 53 of Brookfield, died in a tragic fire on June 10, 2018. Born in Westbrook, ME, Susan was graduated from Westbrook High School. She attended Boston University Medical School and graduated Summa Cum Laude, first in her class, at the age of 23. She practiced medicine and resided in the Chicago area for many years. Susan was an avid reader and gardener. She was an incredible chef and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She was a great lover of animals, they were her constant companions. Susan is preceded in death by her parents Sidney J. Colby and Gladys D. Colby, a brother Kenneth N. Lamb, and sister Gale M. Lewis. She is survived by her brothers Paul Lamb and William C. Colby and sisters Robin Colby Bryson and Sherry Colby Swinnerton. Her death is a terrible loss for all who knew her. She will be missed greatly. Private services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to any animal rescue organization.
