Walter P. Dziewinski, age 83 of Brookfield, United States Marine Corps Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (nee Kubis) Dziewinski, loving father of Renee ( Kevin) Hesik and Brian (Wanona Rex) Dziewinski, cherished grandfather of Brenden and Sean Hesik, Eliza Rex, and Sarah and Richard Dziewinski, dear brother of Patricia (Edward) Wieczorek and the late James Dziewinski, fond uncle, great-uncle and cousin to many.
Walter Dziewinski Accomplishments
-was in the ROTC at Kelly High School
-Radio Operator in the US Marines, earned a Stripe out of boot camp
- Founder/Leader of the Debonaires Orchestra, started out as a Polka Band, converted to a Wedding/Dance Band and became the premier Wedding/Dance band in the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s
- Founder & President of the Brookfield Men’s Softball Assn.
- Manager of the 16” Softball team Bat n’ Brew, won 13 Championships
- Chairman of the Brookfield Recreation Department Board
- President & Secretary of the Sportsmen Bowling League
- Served on the Selective Service Board
- Was inducted to the Chicago 16” Softball Hall of Fame as an organizer in 2019
- Worked for Sears Roebuck & Company for 38 years in the Catalog Department
- Worked for the LaGrange Police Department Parking Division
-Ran the 16” Men’s Softball tournaments in Brookfield
- Lifelong Die Hard Chicago White Sox fan
